How I Make Phone My Personal Assistant

Life can get chaotic, but those little devices in our pockets can help us in a lot of small ways that add up.

Here’s how I use my phone as a personal assistant:

  1. Set up keyboard shortcuts for frequently typed items

    - Use @@ to auto populate your email address
    - Use ## to auto populate your address

  2. Update your Notes to three emojis and an all caps title on the next line to easily view and access your various notes. I use these notes to jot down questions I want to ask at my next doctor’s appointment, store the kids’ allergy info, keep a running gift ideas list throughout the year and store any frequently referenced info (e.g. my TSA Pre-Check number to quickly copy and paste).

  3. Set reminders to text a friend when they tell you about an upcoming appointment or milestone

    - (i.e. Remind me on Thursday, August 1 at 8 a.m. to text Katie about [insert topic here] )

  4. Set the exact time you need to remember to pack something for the next day at school

    - (i.e. Remind me at 7 p.m. to find tie dye shirt for school tomorrow)
